Shades of beige and brown...what is it all?

What is the white stuff?

This time you must use words because I'm just not so sure. We keep telling Brenna that you have to eat a rainbow, but it's tough when they're little. Eh?

Huh.

I'm intrigued. Especially about the portion closest to the spoon.

Okay!

By the spoon: that's 'corn casserole' from a jar -- it's basically corn and water and some cornstarch to give it that spoonable jello consistency. She really only eats veggies from jars.

The crumbly stuff: homemade apple crisp / apple betty / apple crumble / whatever you call it in the region where you live. It's mostly apples and cinnamon and oats and butter.

In squares: whole wheat pita with hummus.

She actually ate it all--okay, she licked the hummus off the pita. It's no rainbow, but it kinda was a balanced meal, non?

It is the shared community represented in posts like this that make me feel like I am not alone in the world.

I think, "I am not alone. Mimi too places a destitute and sad looking child's plate on the table..."

Apple brown betty! Aha! I kept wondering what the huge pile of bacon was doing there ....

Looks like something the baby would enjoy...but I'd have to pass on the corn from a jar.

They're lovely colors for a bed ensemble.
