You may now laugh your ass off ...

Here's me, March Break 1991, on a road trip to Disneyworld with my bestest bud B (dark brown hair), her sister D (reddish hair) and her parents. We made the trip in a maroon Dodge Caravan extended cab. I had a terrible, terrible head cold. The Canadian dollar was worth about 86 cents US. B and I shared a bench seat in the van, two sets of headphones connected via a splitter into one yellow sports Walkman playing REM and Black Box alternately (!). The weather was quite cold, which is disappointing when you drive for two whole very long days to get to Florida from deepest, darkest Canada.

God, don't I look terrible? I love my square, baggy Cotton Ginny sweatshirt, total absence of makeup and general sinusitis puffiness.

I feel bad that I keep telling Bad how we looked so much alike in high school. Dig my totally natural, pouffy tri-colour hair: did it used to be somehow red? And is it going brown? Who knows. Obviously, I was still in my preppy phase--the gothness kicked in later 1992, if you're wondering.

Anyhow. You may now commence to laughing ....

Although not ANY worse than my high school pictures. Which I will never, EVER post. EVER.
And oh, Cotton Ginny sweatshirts. How I wanted one.

I won't laugh because I have some rather seriously unflattering high school pictures tucked away myself.

I actually like sweatshirts... used to have stacks of them.

So we could have been high school soul sisters. With the loooong hair and bangs. The jean shorts and sweatshirts. I'm a teacher now and totally rock out some school spirit sweatshirts to this day. Go team!

Very, very nice indeed.

My highschool years were more in the 80's ... I wouldn't dare to post the pictures!

Oh man we could have been related for sure. I had the hair (thanks to Sun In) the bangs, the huge Cotton Ginny and Roots sweatshirts.

You made me smile.

Awesome. I was there that same March break. For swim training. In outdoor pools. And got hypothermia.

Very disappointing.

However, I think this photo all but makes up for it. ;)

we are the same age, more or less, and i look in horror not at you and your friends as people but at fate and culture for dressing an entire generation of us like that.

i had the bubble-head bangless pouf that used an elaborate arrangement of barrettes to pin the front of my head for the longest time, and then in 1990 i cut the bangs myself and you and i were hair twins. you wore it better. :)

I had the same f'ing CG sweat shirt and dude, walking shorts were the thing in the 90s - weren't they? I can't laugh because it looks like dozens of photos from my shoebox.

Oh that was great. I know some pics like that exist of me; I wish I had them, actually!

Yeah, looks about like my late 80s, too. You'll note me not posting any pictures of that...
