Just trying to figure all this marriage / parenthood / career business out without losing my footing and plunging into the abyss. Regular everday stuff, really.
Phew. I've got the primer done (as you can see here) and two coats of paint on windows and doors, and all three coats done on the baseboards. I'll finish all the trim tonight then, and do the walls before the weekend! So it'll just be one week (Sunday-Friday) of having my living room in a total uproar and full of fumes.
We got to the primer stage with all of the grim black woodwork in our house and... STOPPED THERE. SEVEN YEARS! SEVEN! But you're more on the ball than me. It'll get better.
I'm an untenured university professor raising the world's biggest preschooler -- I work in multimedia and wet-wipes. I'm trying to learn how to be calm, and how to plaster walls.

Yes! Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!
The hard work is over! Crack open the paint cans...or is it those very cool plastic jugs?
It'll get there and you will be so pleased!

As long as it doesn't happen like it does at my house, where there's weeks between priming and painting.
Love interior painting - an another life I'd have been a paint contractor. Such a relatively quick way to change the feel of a room.
